Queen Elizabeth II visits Wimbledon

World no.1 Roger Tennis champions Roger Federer and Serena Williams greeted Queen Elizabeth II at the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Virender Sehwag tops ICC Test Batsmen rankings

In the recent ICC rankings for Test batsmen, India's Flamboyant Opener Virender Sehwag has maintained his no.1 position. Team India has also retained its top spot in the latest chart. Virender Sehwag tops the list of players with 863 points and is followed by another opener from South Africa - Hashim Amla. Amla now has 842 points. Sri Lanka's former skipper Mahela Jayawardene is at 3rd spot with 836 points.

Sehwag's opening partner Gautham Gambhir and Little master Sachin Tendulkar are the other two Indian batsmen who have managed to register therir names in top-10. They are at number sixth and seventh positions with 824 and 805 points respectively. India's VVS Laxman and "The Wall" Rahul Dravid rankings remained the same at 14th and 16th spot respectively.

Rafael Nadal World no.1 in ATP Rankings

FIFA releases 53k extra World Cup tickets

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has decided to put some 50k tickets on sale for the World Cup 2010. Most of these tickets are unsold hospitality packages. Nearly 38k top end tickets with a price band of $200 will go on sale on monday along with the 15k tickets along with the partially restricted view.

These tickets will be on sale only at shops at South Africa. It will not be put on sale online. These tickets will not include seats for the opening matches between the host South Africa and Mexico on June 11th, semifinals or the finals on July 11th.

The ticket sale has been in slow pace ion South Africa and is in demand in Germany where six people apply for each available ticket. FIFA has apologiosed to thousands of soccer fans around the world for technical problems that halted the transactions for online ticket booking last week. Biggest house in America' up for sale

A house modelled on the Palace of Versailles that will eventually become the biggest in America, has been put on sale for a price of £50m. Versailles is the largest family home ever built in the United States.Time share mogul David Siegel and his former beauty queen wife Jacqueline began kbuilding the huge estate three years ago.

But with almost 18 months of work still to be carried out on the property they have put it on the market at $75m. Experts believe a further $25m needs to be spent before anyone can move in. The shell of the house has been completed, but all the interior work including fixtures and fittings have yet to be installed.

Estate agents said there has already been interest from Russia and the Far East for the property in Windermere near Orlando, Florida. As well as 30 bedrooms the home would have had 23 bathrooms with spectacular views over Lake Butler, about 20 miles from Orlando.

The hand-built windows for the house cost more than £2m and other luxuries included a ballroom and children's theatre. No expense has been spared on the construction with materials flown in from around the world, including marble and granite from Turkey. There are 3 swimming pools, a garage with enough space for 20 cars, a large boat house, formal gardens, and a one-story gatehouse with an apartment.

There is also a 60 foot by 120 foot Grand Hall with a 30-foot stained glass dome, two tennis courts, a baseball field, two grand staircases, 10 satellite kitchens, a two-story wine cellar, a 37 foot by 30 foot kitchen and a rock grotto with three separate spas behind an 80-foot waterfall.

All the 23 full bathrooms have full-sized Jacuzzis, 160 tripled paned windows and Brazilian mahogany French-style doors.There is also a His and Her office space with a 12-foot two-sided aquarium.

The property was called Versailles as the entrance was modelled after the Palace of Versailles in France. The Siegels are currently living in the Isleworth estate where they are close neighbours of Tiger Woods.

Robin Soderling knocks out Roger Federer

For the first time in six years French Open will have semifinal without defending champion and world no.1 Roger Federer.

World no.5 Robin Soderling did it again on tuesday beating Federer in a rain hit quarterfinal, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 on Philippe Chatrier Court. This has put an end to Federer's record of reaching the semifinals in 23 consecutive major tournaments. He is also the first man to beat Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros.

Federer, who beat Soderling in last year's final had no option this time and played a defensive match. Soderling was seen with some tremendous improvement with his thunderous strokes.

Soderling will now play world's 15th seeded Tomas Berdych in semifinal.
