Sania Mirza to marry Shoaib Malik

Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza and Former Pakistan Cricket team captain Shoaib Malik are going to get married. They are expected to tie knot on April 16th or 17th in Lahore. Shoaib Malik has confirmed the news in his twitter page saying "Thanks for all your support. And the news of me marrying to Sania is true. Inshallah will get married in April."

"I fully understand what it takes to be an international sports person and I will support Sania in her career as long as she wishes to play."

He further added "Representing India at the 2012 Olympics is very important for her and I will be the proudest husband if she can win a medal for her country."

The two eminent sport persons have been in close affair for the last six months which led to the break of Sania's earlier engagement. Sania Mirza was earlier engaged to Indian businessman Sohrab Mirza. In 2002, Shoaib Malik too was accused of marrying another Hyderabad girl, Ayesha Siddiqui. But the fellow cricketer said he was only engaged to her.

Rs.1 crore suit for Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to wear the most expensive costume in the history of Indian cinema. It is reported that SRK who plays the role of a superhero in the Anubhav Sinha directed Ra.One will wear this expensive costume which is said to be worth Rs.1 crore. The costume was designed at Los Angeles and SRK has put some extra effort for the design of the suit. He was immersed into a 12X3 chamber of warm latex like liquid and was allowed to harden. Later it was peeled off from SRK. The outfit will be steel blue in color. Kareena Kapoor is playing the female lead role. American pop singer Akon has lend his voice for SRK in one song. Jachie Chan is also expected to play a role in this film. RA.ONE which is produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment has turned out to be one of the costliest films ever attempted in Bollywood.

Ljubicic defeats Djokovic

Indian Premier League(IPL) is going to have another owner from Bollywood. The bid for the new IPL team franchise was announced few weeks back. But due to strict rules it didn't pull much bidders. So Lalit Modi relaxed the eligibility criteria for the bidders and announced a new tender.

Venkat Prabhu's Next Film "Poochandi"

Multifaceted Indian Venkat Prabhu is all set to shoot his next film. The title for the film is "Poochandi". His brother & music director Premji Amaran & Shiva of "Tamil Padam" fame are joining hands again for the lead roles after "Saroja". The heroines of the film are yet to be decided. T. Shiva of Amma creations will produce the film. He had earlier produced "Sivakasi".

The actor, director Venkat Prabhu who was earlier rumored to direct a film for Simbhu or Ajith told press reporters that the film will be a different one from the film which he had directed earlier. But the comedy quotient will remain the same as his previous projects. His cousin and ace music director Yuvan Shankar raja will compose the music for the film. His recent release "GOA" was a runaway hit and let us wish him to will continue his good work in the future projects too.

Nico Rosberg leads in Practice

2010 FORMULA 1 season started today with the practice session ahead of the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. During practice one, Adrian Sutil of Force India topped the charts with an amazing show. Ferrari's new comer Fernando Alonso came next to him and Renault's Robert Kubica came third. Ferrari's Felipe Massa was forth followed by 2009 World Champion Jenson Button and 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton of Mclaren.

But Practice two had a complete change in the standings. Young German, Nico Rosberg of Mercedes Benz GP showed an outstanding performance to clock the fastest. Lewis Hamilton who chased him all along could manage to settle only in second. Six time world Champion Michael Schumacher came behind him. Reigning Champion Jenson Button was forth and Sebastian Vettel was the fifth fastest.

Akon to lend voice for SRK

The latest one to join the league of Bollywood singers is American pop singer Akon. The R&B star has come to the subcontinent to record a song for Shah Rukh Khan's next film Ra.One.

Shahrukh Khan who visited U.S. few months back had met Akon in Los Angeles. And it all started from there. Besides singing one song, Akon will reportedly perform a cameo in the film. Directed by Anubhav Sinha of Tum Bin fame, the science-fiction superhero hi-tech film "Ra.One" is written by David Benullo and cinematography by Ueli Steiger. Music will be composed by Vishal-Shekhar. Kareena Kapoor plays the female lead role & Arjun Rampal plays the bad guys role.

Shahrukh plays a role of software engineer Shekhar in the film, who as a video-game hero takes on his self-created techno-monster "Ra.One". Shahrukh's wife Gauri Khan is the producer.

Ajith-Goutham duo in 'Kaaval'

After meeting Tamilnadu Cheif Minister Karunanidhi to settle things over his controversial speech about cinema and politics, Ajith is all set to break the silence for announcing his 50th film. The Milestone film which will be directed by Goutham Vasudev Menon & produced by Dayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud nine production. Earlier the film was titled 'Thuppariyum Anand'. But sources now say 'Thuppariyum Anand' was never considered for title, as it doesn't look catchy. Meanwhile the film has got a new title 'Kaaval' since the story is about a cop. Goutham has requested Ajith to give some time for making the script more powerful. So shooting will progress from October. That's why Ajith has decided to race again. The title will be announced officially very soon. Another interesting fact about the film is that Ajith is planning to invite Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and the state DIG for the film launch function.

Cloud 9 buys Paiyaa

Kollywood's much awaited movie of the year is "Paiyaa". The film which is directed by Lingusamy has AO fame Karthi and Tamanna in the lead roles. Ace model Miland soman does the bad guys role. The film is being produced by N. Subash Chandra Bose of Thirupathi Brothers. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for the movie and has given 5 peppy songs which are rocking the musical world. Rajni to act in Chandramuki 2

Biggest Blockbuster movie in Tamil film industry "Chandramuki" is set have its next version. Director P. Vasu, who earlier made Chandramuki has already confirmed that he is planning to remake Aptha Rakshaka which is making records in Sandalwood karnataka. Karun Chandhok to race for HRT

Formula one 2010 season is all set to start next week & with the introduction of new teams & new drivers fans are more excited. Even in countries like India, where F1 race is not so popular, the momentum has increased since there is one Indian team (Force India owned by Indian liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya) running on track. And now Indians have one more sweet reason to cheer. Karun Chandhok has been confirmed by Hispania Racing Team (HRT) to race for the F1 2010 season. He is only the second indian to race on Formula one. Prior to join the big league, Karun Chandhok was busy driving in GP2 Series for three years. The official announcement came during the event of the Hispania Racing team unveiling their car for the 2010 season. The 26 year-old driver will partner Bruno Senna of Brazil. Narain Karthikeyan made his Formula One debut in 2005 with the Jordan team, and was Williams F1 test driver in 2006 and 2007.

Mitchell Johnson fined for 'headbutt' clash

Muttiah Muralitharan to quit Test Cricket in 2010

Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan to planning to quit Test Cricket. The Legendary spinner who holds the record for the most number of wickets in both the forms of the game has already quoted he will quit all forms of the game(Test, ODI & T20) after the 2011 cricket world cup.

The 37 year old fellow cricketer has 512 wickets in ODI & 792 dismissals in Test cricket. He is just 8 wickets short of becoming the first player to take 800 wickets in Test cricket. World's Tallest Dog

George, Great Dane from the US state of Arizona has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest dog ever.

This is a hotly contested record and after some controversy and conflicting media reports we decided to send our own official adjudicator to put the final stamp on this record holder. We can indeed say now that George is the top dog, said Craig Glenday, Editor-In-Chief of Guinness World Records.

Owner Dave Nasser says George eats about 110 lbs of food each month and sleeps on his own queen sized bed in the house. Rumors have it, the family is buying a front loader and backhoe to deal with Georges leftovers in the backyard.

Giant George, stands 43in (1.09m) tall paw to shoulder, and weighs 245lb (111kg).

Lucky George has already appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and has his own web site as well as Facebook and Twitter pages.

Four-year-old Giant George made it into the record books by beating his nearest rival, Titan, a Great Dane from California, by three-quarters of an inch.
