BNP Paribas Indian Wells Masters 1000 had given the tennis fans around the world quiet a lot of shocks and surprises. World no.1 Roger Federer was the first one to crash out of the tournament. He was defeated by Marco Baghdatis in the third round.
Wednesday match had Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic and Serbia's Novak Djokovic. The world no.2 Djokovic had defeated Ljubicic in their last five meetings. The only time Ljubicic bet Djokovic was their first meeting in Zagreb in 2006. After that Djokovic didn't give chance for the crotian.
But last night, the fellow Crotian stunned seed no.2 Djokovic defeating him 7-5, 6-3 and confirmed his quarter-final berth. Djokovic was not able to survive Ljubicic's serve. Ljubicic was simply amazing and showed a wonderful performence. Djokovic met his 'idol' Pete Sampras few days back. Third-seeded Spaniard Rafel Nadal also advanced to the quarter finals with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 win over America's John Isner.
