KKR to stay in semifinal race

April 7, 2010, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Daredevils by 14 runs to stay alive in the race for a semi-final berth. Earlier, KKR which won the toss decided to bat first and the decision didn't go in vain. Skipper Sourav Ganguly scored his sixth half-century (56 off 46 balls) in Indian Premier League. Ganguly and Chris Gayle (40 off 21 balls) added 94 runs in the first 10-odd overs to give the home side a perfect start. Angelo Mathews (46 off 28) and Manoj Tiwary (26) made a 70-run unbeaten partnership in the last seven overs to help the Knight Riders 181 runs in 20 overs with the loss of just 3 wickets. The Daredevils struggled early in the chase as Ashok Dinda, bowled explosive David Warner for a five-ball duck. But Captain Gautham Gambhir and Virendar Sehwag made things steady with a 98 run stand in just ten overs for the second wicket. After both of their dismissals, Ganguly was quick enough in making bowling changes which clicked just when the team required them. In the end, Delhi Daredevils managed to score only 167 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Ganguly was declared the man of the match.
