Kimi Raikkonen to join Vettel for Red Bull in 2014

Kimi Raikkonen is on Infiniti Red Bull Racing's radar if fuming Mark Webber quits Formula One at the end of Formula One 2013 season. Mark Webber was livid after team-mate Sebastian Vettel ignored team orders to hold station in second place and not to overtake the Aussie to win the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Vettel subsequently escaped sanction for his insubordination, a situation which appears to have backed up Webber's post-race claim that the triple world champion enjoys 'protection' at Red Bull. Mrak Webber, whose contract with the team expires at the end of this season, refused to be drawn on his future after the Sepang showdown.

But the energy drink owned team owner Dietrich Mateschitz has revealed they are interested in Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen. He admitted Raikkonen would be a strong candidate to partner Vettel next season. The billionaire Austrian said: "Kimi is cool and fast and always a candidate."

Meanwhile, Webber has been linked with a switch to racing sportcars with Porsche. And Mateschitz admits he does not know what is in store for the 36-year-old. Mateschitz said: "Whether he retires, only he will choose, but Mark is definitely a candidate for 2014."
