Endhiran - Box Office Collection

Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Endhiran - the robot' or 'Robot'(Hindi version) has broken all the previous records at the box office.

The magnum opus movie has earned a whooping amount of Rs.225 crores since its release on October 1st. This is the biggest ever gain for an Indian movie. Just two weeks within its release the movie has broken the record held by Amir Khan's '3 Idiots'. '3 Idiots' overall collection was Rs.150 crores.

The film produced by Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maran at a budget of Rs.170 crores has collected Rs 50 crores from south while Hindi version Robot saw Rs.15 crores on its opening weekend. Endhiran gained a big chunk of Rs.150 crores from Rajini’s own state, Tamilnadu.

In a state where he is worshipped as God, people are rushing to theaters as early as 5 a.m to watch the show. It's purely the Rajini factor that made the movie a big success. This sci-fi masala movie with Aishwarya's glamour quotient, extravagant special effects, and lavish locations pulls crowd even in foreign countries. In U.S. the tickets are sold at $40 (even 'Avatar' managed to see only $25).

'ROBOT', the Hindi dubbed version of 'Endhiran', performed well throughout north in its early weeks. Breaking all the norms of a dubbed film, 'ROBOT' is enjoying packed shows even today is Mumbai multiplexes.
